About Pierre Birger Boris Wunderlich

Birger Wunderlich is a multidisciplinary creative director, digital artist, and entrepreneur with over three decades of experience at the intersection of media, technology, and storytelling. He studied biochemistry, medicine, and computer science, combining scientific rigor with creative and technical expertise.
He has worked as a 3D artist for more than 33 years and has been Managing Director of Bluebox GmbH for 29 years, leading an interdisciplinary media, film, and software production company. Over this period, he built and managed a team of up to 30 employees and trained 43 apprentices. His projects have consistently been delivered to the full satisfaction of his clients.
Birger Wunderlich has directed and realized numerous film productions, media installations, and exhibition concepts, with a focus on immersive and narrative-driven environments. His work includes large-scale installations for cultural institutions, museums, and public spaces.
He is recognized for pioneering work in holographic installations, including one of the most widely viewed holographic productions for Circus Roncalli, which has reached over one billion views. In addition, he created one of the largest permanently installed holographic systems worldwide for Zoo d’Amnéville.
In complex productions and live environments, he has coordinated teams of up to 100 people, overseeing both creative direction and technical execution. His expertise covers the full pipeline from concept development and storytelling to technical implementation, including 3D animation, visual effects supervision, post-production, and real-time media systems.
Since relocating to Sweden, he founded Arts & Innovations, where he develops and implements cultural and tourism-oriented media experiences. He has been working with Autoseum Simrishamn, where he designed and installed holographic and projection mapping solutions to enhance visitor engagement and flow. He also produced an original film on-site, contributing to increased visitor attraction and experience quality.
In addition, he has contributed to regional cultural initiatives such as Österlen Lyser and is currently collaborating with Österlen Matrundan as well as Skillinge Teater.
